The Reflections program is an arts program sponsored by the National PTA for any child from preschool age through 12th grade who attends a PTA school. Each year a new theme is presented and children who wish to participate are encouraged to submit their interpretation of this theme via an original, artistic entry in one or more of the following mediums: literature, music composition, photography, visual art, dance choreography or film/video production. Submissions are judged first at the school level and winning entries are then judged against others at the local, state and national levels. Children need only to have an imagination to participate. Information about this program will be sent home to all children at Hayfield Elementary by the PTA Reflections chairpersons. Student entries were turned in for PTA Reflections in October. The focus for this year's creations was "Beauty Is..." Students created truly beautiful pieces in visual arts, photography, literature, film production, and musical competition. The HES winners for each category were turned over mid November to go on to the next level of competition. We are excited for our reception February 23, 2010 at 6:30 in the HES Cafeteria to celebrate ALL of our student entries! |
